Hands-Free / Voice-Based Solutions
Rick,
There certainly is a lot of noise about ‘Voice-Based’ solutions in the warehouse these days. Here is my challenge, I have portions of the operation that would be more efficient hands-free, but I have to tell you, Voice is not right for us. What is your view on the available hands-free options?

Offsite Storage
Rick,
We have a pretty good handle on the status of our existing inventory and have done a good job with slotting, the overall management of space allocation per SKU and managing the rotation of stock in the warehouse. From time to time we are still pressed for additional space. Could you offer some ideas for us to consider that might prevent us from having to use off-site storage?

Freeing Up Space
Rick,
I need to free up some space in my warehouse to make way for some new product we will begin to distribute later this year. Based on your experience and what you have seen others do, do you have any tips or suggestions that might help free up the space?

Task Interleaving
Hey Rick,
I toured a major household appliance distribution center recently. They had just completed the implementation of a Task Interleaving and Optimization project in their 600,000 square foot warehouse and they expect impressive benefits. As a midsize foodservice distributor we manage 75,000 square feet of space and I am not sure those same benefits will scale equally in our warehouse. What advice would you have for us as we evaluate the use of Interleaving in our warehouse operations?
