Customary POP Deficiencies Weaken Their Value

No Deep Data Granularity: In today’s Perfect Order Programs, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are derived from summary-level data. Summary-level data is derived from highly disparate and physically dispersed low-level detailed data. To perform root cause analysis, business executives need ready-access to actionable, detailed order data in one convenient place. In other words, business executives need a deep granularity of order data, not summary-level data to analyze root causes. With customary Perfect Order Programs, business executives cannot easily or quickly perform root cause analysis because they simply don’t have access to the relevant granular-level order data they need. For instance, business executives should be able to segment their trading partners and products in such a way that they can readily identify the most profitable trading partners and products. With actionable granular order data, business executives can better target process improvement investments, thereby enhancing the company’s ability to better align its operations with business strategy. Then, another deficiency in customary Perfect Order Programs is that they do not provide access to the required granularity of order data.
